Kerry Sinclair

Kerry began her Pilates journey as a young dance student in New York City.  Looking for a career in movement after she stopped dancing, Kerry trained under Susan Moran at Power Pilates, and with Bob Liekens, Founder of The Pilates Standard. She earned her certificate to teach in 2004.  For over a decade, Kerry taught at well-respected studios around the city and was fortunate to work for notable Master Teachers, including Alycea Ungaro, Kathy Grant, and Cary Regan.

A yogini from childhood, Kerry was certified to teach vinyasa (200 hours) in 2008 and began to blend her love of Pilates form with shapes and ideas from yoga.  To better understand the mind-body connection, Kerry became a NASM-certified personal trainer, Thai massage therapist, and, recently, a certified nutrition coach (also through NASM).  Joining the HBO Wellness team in 2011 helped Kerry become a true fitness professional and taught her the value of teamwork.

Kerry earned an MBA in Sustainability from Bard College in 2015, refocusing her career on entrepreneurship and international development.  From 2012 – 2021, she lived and worked in Ghana for MEST Africa and the UN ITC, training entrepreneurs and women in technology.  COVID forced her back to the States in 2021, prompting a move to California to rekindle her love of movement.

After two years as an instructor at ARA Pilates and Movement, she accepted the role of General Manager for a Club Pilates franchise in LA.  Quickly realizing that she had no love for Los Angeles, Kerry relocated to western North Carolina, where she could have the freedom to develop as an instructor, an entrepreneur, and (hopefully) evolve as a human.  Her two dogs, Basil and Whiskey, are the loves of her life and remind her to laugh every day.
